SUMMARY:Happy Halloween!
DESCRIPTION:Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31\, and Fairfax County’s Halloween 2025 trick-or-treating will occur on Friday\, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain\, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century\, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon\, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve\, and later Halloween. Over time\, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating\, carving jack-o-lanterns\, festive gatherings\, donning costumes and eating treats. \nhttps://www.history.com/topics/halloween/history-of-halloween

SUMMARY:Clifton Day Fall Festival
DESCRIPTION:Click here for more information. \n\nJoin us for a day of art\, crafts\, entertainment\, and food! \n\n\nNow celebrating the 57th year of Clifton Day\, the annual town event celebrates the beauty and charm of our beloved town of Clifton\, VA. Join us in experiencing the magic of arts\, crafts\, entertainment\, and food we have in store for you on October 12\, 2025. Live music\, children’s activities\, pony rides\, a beer & wine garden\, and other delicious food and beverage choices add to the fun. Clifton Day is family-friendly\, but please leave your pets at home. \nThe festival\, hosted by the Clifton Betterment Association (CBA)\, arose from a 1960s revitalization effort for the town of Clifton\, which had fallen into a state of disrepair since its incorporation in 1902. Residents decided to hold a festival in 1967 as a way to attract the public to the special place they called home. The annual festival has been going strong ever since on the Sunday before Columbus Day.

SUMMARY:Burke Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/farmersmarkets \nApril 19-November 22\, 2025 (Burke Location)\nSaturdays from 8 am – Noon \nFairfax County Park Authority operates 10 farmers markets across Fairfax County. The mission of the Fairfax County Farmers Markets is to provide residents access to locally grown products and create market opportunities for area farmers and food producers. \nThe markets are strictly producer-only\, meaning that all of the farmers and producers may only sell what they raise on their farms or make from scratch. We encourage our vendors to use local ingredients in the creation of their products as much as possible. Our farmers and producers all come from within a 125-mile radius of Fairfax County\, with a few exceptions for hard-to-find products. \n\n\n\n\nFood Scraps Drop-off at the Farmers Markets\n\nIf you are interested in composting\, consider dropping off your scraps at the Fairfax County Farmers Markets! Drop-off is available at all 10 markets and is a great way to put your food scraps to good use. By dropping off your weeks’ worth of scraps at a local Fairfax County Farmers Market\, you are reducing landfill waste while also contributing to richer\, more nutrient dense soil for agricultural and landscaping purposes.* \n*We do not accept yard clippings at the Farmers Markets. If you’d like to compost your yard waste\, please drop it off at the I-95 Landfill Complex or the I-66 Transfer Station. \n\n\nLearn more about how to drop off your compost
