🎃 When is Trick-or-Treating?

Some communities, cities and counties designate a day other than October 31 for trick-or-treating. Fairfax County Government does NOT set a different date. Halloween is Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

Please DRIVE SLOWLY and CAUTIOUSLY! Younger kids in the CCV neighborhood may start walking around early evening about 6 pm, and older kids may be out until about 9 pm. Please turn your outside doorway light off as a signal to trick-or-treaters not to stop at your house!

1. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and prepare accordingly.
2. Plan and discuss your child’s route if you are not joining them.
3. Children should only visit homes with porch lights on or active Halloween decorations.
4. Remind children never to enter a stranger’s house.
5. Carry a flashlight.
6. Make sure children know their phone number and address — and they should be able to provide this information in an emergency or if lost.
7. Watch for any power cords or other decorations that might cause kids to trip and fall.
