While those who died are also remembered, Veterans Day (11/11/25) is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died – have sacrificed and done their duty.
Robinson Secondary School was named in honor of Sgt. James W. Robinson Jr., the first Virginia resident to receive the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry and heroism in the Vietnam conflict. RSS held its annual Veterans Day ceremony on November 10, 2025 to honor our service members, to remember their achievements, their courage, and their dedication, and to say thank you for their sacrifices. The ceremony will be posted on the school website later this week.
