A Model Neighborhood
Country Club View (CCV) homes have been designed by several architects and built in sections using multiple construction companies, which accounts for the variety of models and layouts. The first developers were Crestwood Construction Corporation (owned by Bernard Steinberg and E. Carl Hengen) with designs by Barkley Pierce Associates of Falls Church. The original 5 models were priced between $29,500-$32,950. (Washington Post Evening Star 09/16/66.)

Take a look at this “Oak Walk” sales pamphlet (circa 10/69) that was prepared for another neighborhood. (Notice on the community map Oak View Elementary was originally to be called Country Club View Elementary.) The pamphlet includes four floor plans with model names of similar homes in our neighborhood — Continental, Nellie Custis, Betsy Ross, and Martha Washington.
